Native American History Database
This database is designed to provide primary sources for the purpose of facilitating teacher planning and student research on Native American History. The sources are arranged chronologically from "Prior to 1725" to "1795-1838," with special sections for images, maps, search engines and research sites.
There is a brief description accompanying the link for each document listed. A few of the documents that are accounts or recollections written after an event are included in the section relating to the time period in which the event or experience took place, rather than the later date when they were written down. These are clearly noted as "memoirs," "recollections," or "reminiscences" in the description of the document. The sources range from government documents such as treaties, speeches, and meeting minutes to newspaper articles, letters, and diaries. The broad scope of the sources cited allow for studying many perspectives on a particular event or time period.Teachers
